What Does it Mean to be Filled with the Holy Spirit? (Devotional)
Tuesday Jul 04, 2023
Tuesday Jul 04, 2023
In this episode, Pastor Brandon unpacks Ephesians 5:15-21:
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Also see Colossians 3:12-17:
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Fighting the Sin of Pride
Sunday Jun 18, 2023
Sunday Jun 18, 2023
According to the Bible, "Pride goes before destruction" (Prov. 16:18), "When pride comes, then comes disgrace" (Prov. 11:2), "The Lord tears down the house of the proud" (Prov.15:25), "The pride of your heart has deceived you" (Obad. 1:3), and “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble" (Jas. 4:6). If Pride is one of those root sins that give rise to many other sins, how can we fight the sin of pride?
